Terms of Use & Directory Listing Agreement

These Terms of Use / Directory Listing Agreement (“Agreement”) govern the submission, publication, and maintenance of therapist listings in the directory operated by Schema Therapy Training Center (“STTC,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) at schematherapytraining.us (the “Site”). By submitting a profile, renewing a listing, or keeping a listing active, you agree to be bound by this Agreement. If you do not agree, do not submit a listing.

1. About the Directory

This directory is operated by Schema Therapy Training Center, doing business as Schema Therapy Training Center (STTC). It is intended to help members of the public identify therapists who represent that they have completed relevant schema therapy training, certification, or alumni status described in their profiles. The directory is an informational listing platform only. It is not a referral service, staffing service, employment platform, supervision arrangement, partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship.

2. Eligibility

To submit or maintain a listing, you must meet all eligibility requirements established by STTC for your listing category, which may include completion of designated schema therapy training, certification, or alumni status, and a current professional license, registration, or certification where required to practice in your jurisdiction. By submitting a listing, you represent and warrant that: (a) you are at least 18 years old and able to enter into this Agreement; (b) you hold all licenses, registrations, and professional authority required for the services you offer; (c) your practice, advertising, telehealth services, and professional conduct comply with applicable laws, licensing-board rules, and ethics codes; (d) you are authorized to submit all information, trademarks, logos, photos, and other materials in your listing; and (e) you are submitting a listing only for yourself or for an organization you are authorized to represent. We may request documentation of your credentials or training at any time and may decline, suspend, or remove any listing that does not meet these requirements.

3. Accuracy of Information

You are solely responsible for ensuring that all information you submit or publish—including your name, credentials, license status, jurisdiction of licensure, training, certifications, contact details, locations, telehealth availability, specialties, populations served, and biography—is accurate, current, complete, lawful, and not misleading at all times. You may not submit information that is false, deceptive, exaggerated, unverifiable, or that misrepresents your qualifications, licensure, or scope of practice. Submitting such information may result in editing, suspension, rejection, or removal of your listing at our sole discretion, with or without notice. You remain responsible for reviewing your published listing and promptly correcting any errors.

4. Ongoing Duty to Keep Your Listing Current

You are responsible for keeping your listing accurate and up to date for as long as it appears in the directory. You agree to promptly update, correct, or request removal of your listing if: (a) your license, registration, certification, or authority to practice changes, lapses, is suspended, or is revoked; (b) your contact information, location, or practice details change; (c) your employment, group-practice affiliation, or business name changes; or (d) any other listed information becomes inaccurate or outdated. If you are no longer legally permitted to practice, no longer meet directory eligibility requirements, or no longer wish to be listed, you must promptly request removal. We are not obligated to monitor or verify the ongoing accuracy of any listing; that responsibility rests entirely with you.

5. No Endorsement, Vetting, or Responsibility for Your Work

The directory is an informational listing service only. STTC does not independently verify every statement in every listing and does not undertake a duty to investigate, monitor, supervise, evaluate, or guarantee any listed therapist, their credentials, their availability, their legal authority to practice, or the quality, safety, legality, or effectiveness of their services. Inclusion in the directory is not an endorsement, recommendation, referral, credentialing, supervision, or guarantee by STTC. To the fullest extent permitted by law: (a) we are not responsible or liable for the services, conduct, advice, treatment, billing, professional decisions, omissions, or outcomes of any listed therapist; (b) the directory creates no referral relationship, agency, partnership, fiduciary duty, therapist-client relationship, or duty of care between STTC and any therapist, client, prospective client, or visitor; and (c) any professional relationship formed between a therapist and a client is solely between those parties. Listing placement does not reflect a judgment by us about a therapist’s competence.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree that your listing and any content you submit will not: (a) contain false, misleading, defamatory, harassing, discriminatory, obscene, or unlawful material; (b) violate any law, regulation, ethics rule, licensing rule, advertising rule, or professional standard governing your practice; (c) infringe the intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights of any third party; (d) misrepresent your affiliation with STTC or suggest endorsement or certification beyond what STTC has expressly authorized; (e) include testimonials, outcome claims, or comparative statements prohibited or restricted by applicable law or professional rules; (f) contain malware, malicious code, hidden redirects, or scraping tools; or (g) include content unrelated to your professional practice. You are responsible for ensuring your listing complies with all advertising, solicitation, and professional-conduct rules that apply to you.

7. Our Right to Edit, Suspend, or Remove Listings

We reserve the right, at our sole discretion and without obligation, to review, edit for formatting or clarity, categorize, decline, suspend, unpublish, or remove any listing or content at any time, with or without notice. Reasons may include suspected inaccuracy, ineligibility, complaints, inactivity, violation of this Agreement, legal or reputational concerns, or failure to respond to requests for confirmation or updates. We have no obligation to publish or to continue publishing any listing for any particular period. We are not liable to you for any such action.

8. Public Nature of Listings

The directory is public. Information you submit for publication—such as your name, credentials, photo, bio, location, contact information, and specialties—will be publicly visible on the Site and may be indexed by search engines, cached, copied, archived, or accessed by anyone, including outside STTC’s control. You should submit only professional information you intend to be public. Do not include client information or other confidential material.

9. Privacy and Data Use

STTC uses the information you submit to operate, display, maintain, and improve the directory and to communicate with you about your listing. We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We may process and store listing information, account information, communications, and related data as reasonably necessary to administer the directory, respond to inquiries, comply with legal obligations, and prevent misuse. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR or the California Consumer Privacy Act). To exercise these rights, or to request correction or removal of your listing, contact us at info@schematherapytraining.us. If STTC publishes a separate Privacy Policy, that policy also applies and will control with respect to personal-data handling in the event of any conflict.

10. Intellectual Property and License to Display Content

You retain ownership of the content you submit (“Content”), to the extent you own it. By submitting Content, you grant STTC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, adapt for formatting, publish, and display that Content for the purpose of operating, promoting, and maintaining the directory, for as long as your listing is active and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for backups and records. This license includes the right to crop, resize, reformat, correct typographical errors, and make non-substantive edits for clarity, accessibility, or technical compatibility without changing the overall meaning. You represent and warrant that you own or have the necessary rights to all Content you submit, including any photographs, and that its use by us will not infringe the rights of any third party. The Site, the directory, and all STTC names, logos, and trademarks are our property or that of our licensors and may not be used except as expressly permitted.

11. No Guarantee of Results

STTC does not promise any minimum number of views, inquiries, referrals, clients, search rankings, or business results from any listing. Directory visibility may vary based on site design, user behavior, search algorithms, listing completeness, geography, and other factors outside our control.

12. Disclaimer; Directory Is Informational Only

The directory and Site are provided for general informational purposes only and do not constitute medical, psychological, mental-health, or legal advice, and are not a substitute for professional diagnosis or treatment. The directory and Site are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, availability, security, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not warrant that the directory will be error-free, uninterrupted, or secure.

13. Notice to Clients and Visitors

If you are a member of the public using the directory to find a therapist: listings are submitted by the therapists themselves, and STTC does not independently verify, endorse, or guarantee any listed therapist, their credentials, or their services. You are solely responsible for independently verifying any therapist’s license, credentials, qualifications, and suitability before engaging their services. Contacting a therapist through the directory does not create any relationship with STTC. The directory is not intended for emergencies; if you are experiencing an emergency, call 911 or your local emergency services, and if you are in crisis, contact an appropriate crisis line or emergency resource in your area.

14. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Schema Therapy Training Center, STTC, and their owners, officers, directors, employees, trainers, contractors, affiliates, licensors, and agents will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, data, or opportunities, arising out of or relating to the directory, the Site, any listing, any therapist, any visitor, or this Agreement, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. To the extent any liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to this Agreement will not exceed USD $100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations of liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

15. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Schema Therapy Training Center, STTC, and their owners, officers, directors, employees, trainers, contractors, affiliates, licensors, and agents from and against any claims, demands, investigations, proceedings, damages, losses, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or related to your Content, your listing, your professional services, your conduct, your breach of this Agreement, or your violation of any law, regulation, ethics code, or third-party right.

16. Complaints and Cooperation

If STTC receives a complaint, legal demand, licensing concern, or takedown request relating to your listing or conduct, we may forward the concern to you, request clarification or supporting documentation, temporarily disable content, or remove the listing. You agree to cooperate in a timely manner with reasonable requests relating to eligibility, identity, licensing, training status, or compliance with this Agreement. Failure to respond may result in suspension or removal.

17. Termination

This Agreement remains in effect for as long as your listing is submitted, published, renewed, or maintained through the directory. You may request removal of your listing at any time by contacting info@schematherapytraining.us. STTC may suspend or terminate your access or remove your listing at any time as permitted by this Agreement. Sections that by their nature should survive termination—including those concerning accuracy, disclaimers, limitation of liability, indemnification, intellectual property, governing law, and disputes—will survive.

18. Changes to This Agreement

We may update this Agreement from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above, and where changes are material we will provide reasonable notice by email to the address on file and/or a notice posted on the Site. Updated terms become effective on posting unless a later effective date is stated. Your continued submission, renewal, or maintenance of a listing after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Agreement.

19. Governing Law and Disputes

This Agreement is governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to this Agreement, the directory, or a listing will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in New York, unless applicable law requires otherwise. Any optional mediation, arbitration, class-action waiver, or jury-trial waiver should be added here only after review by counsel: [PLACEHOLDER: DISPUTE RESOLUTION TERMS, IF DESIRED].

20. General

If any provision of this Agreement is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force. Our failure to enforce any provision is not a waiver of our right to do so later. This Agreement, together with any applicable Privacy Policy, constitutes the entire agreement relating to directory listings and supersedes prior discussions on that subject. You may not assign this Agreement without our prior written consent; STTC may assign this Agreement in connection with a merger, restructuring, or transfer of the directory or related business.

22. Acknowledgment

By submitting, publishing, renewing, or maintaining a listing, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to this Terms of Use / Directory Listing Agreement.
