Welcome, alumna or alumnus. This is the home for STTCNY graduates of the Individual and Couples programs to publish a professional listing in our directory of schema therapists. Clients searching for trained, ISST-aligned schema therapists will find you here. Setting up your profile takes about thirty minutes if you have your materials ready.
Read this first
Before you start the form, please read our Profile Optimization Guide. It contains direct, specific instructions for each field: what makes a strong headshot versus a weak one, how to write a tagline that converts, what belongs in your bio versus your treatment approach, why multi-state therapists should list multiple offices, and the role of an intro video. Reading the guide first will save you time and dramatically improve your results.
You should also review our honest forecast of What to Expect from Your Directory Profile, realistic expectations on inquiry volume, conversion rates, and the timeline over which a profile compounds.
What to have ready before you begin
To complete your submission in one sitting, gather the following: a current professional headshot (at least 800 by 800 pixels, well-lit, eyes to camera); a 60 to 90 second intro video uploaded as unlisted to YouTube (optional but strongly recommended); your full credentials and ISST training history; a written bio in your own voice (three short paragraphs); a treatment approach paragraph in plain client-facing language; the address of each office where you practice, including telehealth-only “offices” for any additional states you are licensed in; your fee structure, sliding-scale availability, and accepted insurance carriers; the URL of your professional website.
The five-step submission
First, click the button below to begin. You will be asked to create a free account on the site so you can return to edit your profile any time.
Second, complete the listing form. The Schema Therapist directory is selected by default. Work through each section: profile photo, contact information, practice details, office locations, and the about-you content.
Third, if you are licensed in multiple states, use the additional office fields. Each state-specific address makes you findable in that state’s search results, even when the office is telehealth-only.
Fourth, check the GDPR acknowledgment box confirming that you take responsibility for the accuracy of the information you publish.
Fifth, submit. Profiles enter a brief admin review for completeness, then publish, typically within a few business days. You will receive an email confirmation once your listing is live.
Profile quality checklist
Use this short checklist before you click submit. Every item answered yes meaningfully improves the likelihood that searchers convert into inquiries.
- Current professional headshot, soft natural light, eyes to camera, plain background
- Tagline names the modality, the population, and the problem in fifteen words or fewer
- Bio reads in your own voice when you speak it aloud
- Bio’s middle paragraph names client struggles specifically enough that the right person says, “That is me”
- Treatment approach paragraph explains schema therapy in plain language a non-clinician would understand
- Only populations you genuinely have expertise with are checked
- One office address listed per state where you are licensed (telehealth-only is fine)
- Sixty to ninety second intro video uploaded and linked (or planned within thirty days)
- Fees, sliding scale availability, and insurance carriers are specific enough that a prospective client knows if they can afford you
- Currently accepting new clients status is accurate as of today
- Website link works and leads to a current, mobile-friendly site
Updating your profile later
Once your profile is live, you can return any time by logging in and editing your listing. We strongly encourage you to update your “currently accepting new clients” status whenever your real availability changes, refresh your headshot every two to three years, and revise your bio as your practice evolves. Profiles that are kept current significantly outperform profiles that are not.
Privacy, ownership, and responsibility
To protect you from spam, we do not display phone numbers or email addresses publicly. Clients reach you through the website link on your profile. You own and are responsible for the information you publish; please keep it accurate and current. See our Directory Terms of Use for full details.
