Privacy Policy

Last updated: 31 July 2026.

This policy explains what personal information the Schema Therapy Training Center of New York (“we”, “us”) collects through schematherapytraining.us, why we collect it, and what choices you have. It covers visitors to the site and clinicians who create an account in our Find a Schema Therapist directory.

Information we collect

When you create a directory account we collect the username, email address and password you choose. When you build a directory profile we collect whatever you enter into it, which may include your name, credentials, licensure and the jurisdictions where you practise, languages, areas of focus, contact details, website and scheduling links, a photograph and biographical text. When a visitor uses a listing contact form we collect the name, email address and message they submit and pass it to the listed clinician.

Like most websites we also record limited technical information automatically, such as IP address, browser type and pages viewed, and we use cookies to keep you signed in and to remember your preferences.

Directory profiles are public

This is the most important thing to understand if you list with us. Everything you put into your directory profile is intended to be seen by the public and by search engines. Please do not include anything in your profile that you would not want publicly available. Your account email address and password are not published.

How we use your information

We use it to operate your account, to review and publish your directory listing, to send you service messages such as email verification and notifications about your listing, and to respond when you contact us. We do not sell your personal information. We will only send you marketing email if you have separately asked to receive it, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Service providers

We rely on third parties to run the site, including our web host, our email delivery provider, our performance and security services, and analytics. Where a paid service is offered, payments are handled by our payment processor and we do not store card details on our servers. These providers process information on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

Clinical confidentiality

This website is an information and referral resource, not a clinical service. Nothing you send through this site creates a therapeutic relationship, and messages sent through the site are not a secure or confidential channel for clinical information. Please do not send personal health information through this website.

How long we keep information

We keep your account and listing for as long as you wish to be listed. If you ask us to remove your listing or close your account, we will do so, though limited records may remain in backups for a period before they are overwritten.

Your choices and rights

You can sign in at any time to review, correct or remove the information in your listing. You may also ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or state privacy legislation, including the right to object to certain processing and the right to complain to a supervisory authority.

Children

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes and contact

We may update this policy from time to time and will change the date at the top when we do. If you have any question about privacy, or want to exercise any of the rights above, please contact us through the contact page on this site.
